While people on social media and other corners of the internet continue to debate whether or not LSU basketball player Angel Reese did to Caitlin Clark in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship Game was poor sportsmanship or not, the Iowa Hawkeyes continues to be a sterling example for people young and old off the court.

Clark was the special guest at a health and fitness event that took place at Kinnick Stadium on Wednesday, May 3rd. The event was put on by the Hy-Vee Kidsfit School Wellness Club, and Clark gave a speech about how everything in life starts with taking care of your bodies, regardless of whatever it is you want to accomplish.

Caitlin Clark has become a role model for young boys and girls thanks to her prowess on the court but also her selfless leadership and steadfast composure. She told the kids how important nutrition is in their day-to-day lives:

Ever since I was your ages, being able to put good foods in your body lets you perform at the highest level, whether you're taking a test, playing basketball, playing soccer, [it doesn't matter] what you're doing.

The children who are part of the Hy-Vee Kidsfit School Wellness Club got to practice various different exercises, and were delighted to see Clark be one of guest speakers. It was the club's first event in Iowa City since the pandemic began in 2020.

The ultimate goal of the event is to teach students all the ways they can incorporate a healthy lifestyle into their daily regimen, as well as teach them valuable nutritional information and ways to stay active. Clark also led the kids in various exercises.

Clark and the Hawkeyes are hot off Iowa's first National Championship appearance. While it sadly ended in a 102-85 defeat against LSU, Clark and the Hawkeyes commanded the national spotlight for several weeks with their meteoric run. It radically altered a lot of people's perceptions about women's athletics, and Clark quickly ascended to being one of the most popular athletes in the nation, earning praise from the likes of global superstars like LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes.

Since the Hawkeyes lost the National Championship, Clark's teammate Monika Czinano was selected by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2023 WNBA Draft. Clark is set to return to Iowa for the 2023-24 season, and has even spoken about staying an additional year after that, even though, by 2024, she'll be eligible for the 2024 WNBA Draft.
