Cardi B's latest collaboration is designed for the tabloids. TMZ reports today (Oct. 1) that the "I Like It" rapper recently hit the studio with Meek Mill.

Little is known about the recording session, but both artists have teased the impending release of new full-lengths, so we may learn more soon. In early August, Cardi said on Instagram that she wanted to drop a project on Sept. 1, including five songs that "didn't fit" on her April debut album Invasion of Privacy, but it didn't happen.

Meek, for his part, teased a new LP in early September when he captioned an Instagram post previewing new merchandise with the tantalizing promise that any purchase would come bundled with a digital copy of his "upcoming album." The EP Legends of the Summer, his first post-jail release, dropped in July.

In any case, the pairing is already being framed as an escalation in Cardi's ongoing beef with Meek's ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj. Months of rumored tension between the two women exploded last month at a Harper’s Bazaar party during New York Fashion Week at which Cardi appeared to charge Minaj while yelling, "Like some shit about my daughter again."

On an episode of her Queen Radio show after the incident, Nicki denied discussing other people's parenting and fired direct shots at Cardi, saying, "You knew that when that footage came out you was about to looking fuckin' dumb," and claiming the Bronx rapper "has built her career off sympathy and payola."

In other news, Cardi turned herself in to New York police today and was reportedly charged with two misdemeanors for allegedly ordering associates to attack two bartenders at a New York strip club in August.
