Cardi B Ticket Sales Surge After Show Postponement Due to Plastic Surgery Recovery: Report
There is a silver living in everything—and promoters for the concert Cardi B just had to postpone to properly recover from her recent plastic surgery are seeing that in real time.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday (May 23), tickets for the rescheduled date of the 92Q Spring Bling Festival in Baltimore have skyrocketed since the announcement.
The celebrity news site says that within 30 minutes of sharing the new Sept. 8 date on Tuesday (May 21), nearly 2,000 tickets sold, and over 2,500 tickets and counting have been sold since. Promoters are honoring original tickets as well, so with the combination of both, they're confident they will sell out the Royal Farms Arena—which can hold 13,000.
As previously reported, Cardi had pushed herself too far, too fast following the liposuction and breast augmentation that she recently got. After experiencing some swelling from the surgeries following major performances at the likes of Rolling Loud Miami and her Fashion Nova launch party, doctors finally told Cardi she needs to take a seat. Reps for the rapper reached out to XXL to assure it is nothing more than some necessary rest.
"Cardi was overzealous in getting back to work, she didn't take the time necessary to fully recover from her surgery. Her strenuous schedule has taken a toll on her body and she has been given strict doctors orders to pull out of the rest of her performances in May," the statement read. "She's very disappointed as she hates to let her fans down. She reassures them that she will see them in September.”
XXL has reached out to reps for Royal Farms Arena for comment.
