With inflation hitting the pocketbook, the real impact hits closest to home at the grocery store. With food prices rising at the fastest rate in nearly two generations, Local families feel the pinch.

What's good to know is that people are compassionate and help is available to those in need. You're not alone. Whether it's a little to get you through the week or enough to keep the little ones from going to bed hungry, the community is stepping up with food to help keep your pantry stocked and your stomach full.

Convivium Urban Farmstead in Dubuque welcomes those in need to visit their mobile food pantry on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Please arrive at or before 2:30 p.m. as food distribution will start at 3 p.m. This is a popular event, and donated supplies are limited and typically go quickly.

Park your vehicle and come to Convivium's front doors to receive a prepacked food box from River Bend Food Bank.

Convivium believes in protecting the community and environment.

According to its mission statement and community outreach efforts, the nonprofit utilizes its resources to make a significant positive impact on the lives of our neighbors.

They're accomplishing this goal in various unique and engaging ways, including cooking, gardening, and woodworking classes for both kids and adults. Also impactful and fun are events like game nights, open mics, farm-to-table dinners, or ethnic food nights. In addition, Convivium provides a dynamic community space to learn about and grow food on sight and in garden boxes throughout the Northend neighborhood.
