The 68th annual Dubuque County Fair continues Thursday (7/29) with country day!

One of the things I love most about our fair is that there is something for everyone. Mixing a country act with a rock or pop act makes the week more appealing to more people.

Thursday will feature a number of fun events that I'll be glad to break down for you.

The grounds will again open at 8am, just in time for the first event of the day... the Dubuque Talent Show at the Blain's Stage in the Festival Garden.

At 9am the 4-H/FFA Swine Show will do their judging in the Swine Barn.

At 10am the 4-H Building Exhibits and Creative Arts Building open to the public, and magician John Green will host the first of his three shows under the Hy-Vee Big Top. (The others shows start at noon and 3pm.)

At 11am the Exhibit Hall opens and you can check out the Carve R Way Chainsaw artist and the Reptile Adventures on the exhibit grounds.

At 1pm there's Bingo hosted across from the Grandstands, and the North American Midway Rides start selling their bracelets for $30, that can be used all the way up to 11pm.

At 1:30pm there's a Lego contest in the Creative Arts Building.

Master Hypnotist Jim Wand does the first of his three shows at 2pm under the Hy-Vee Big Top (with other shows at 4pm and 6pm), and there's an eating contest under the Ballroom canopy.

At 2:30pm check out the Clover Kids Pet Show in the 4-H Building.

At 4pm there's the 4-H/FFA Pet Show in the Swine Barn and Dubuque Dance will be performing on the Blain's Stage in the Festival Garden.

At 7pm The Road Less Traveled Community Theater performs under the Hy-Vee Big Top.

The Grandstand gates open at 6:30pm for the country show featuring Casey Muessigmann (who is from Iowa and was on NBC's "The Voice" season three) opening for headliner Chris Lane at 7:30pm.

After the show you can head back up to the Blain's Stage in the Festival Garden for an encore performance by Casey Muessigmann and a few cold drinks!

It's gonna be another fun day at the Dubuque County Fair! Get your tickets and more details at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds WEBSITE!

See you there!
