The Dubuque County Fairgrounds will host the 'Fall Into The Holidays' event this Sunday[/caption]The gang at Jodi & KT Invite You are at it again! This Sunday (11/14) they're inviting you out to the "Fall Into The Holidays" event at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds!

KT stopped by the studio today to tell us about the event. It's the 6th annual "Fall Into The Holidays" event that is a great way to kick off your holiday shopping. There will be over one hundred vendors between two buildings and an outdoor market.

The outdoor market will start at 9:30 am and the buildings will open up at 10 am.

KT said that while a lot of people have gone to buying everything online, this event is a great way to support a number of local vendors all in one spot. It includes crafters, makers, wine producers, bakers, home businesses, and boutiques.

There is a $2 door admission and a part of that will go to an area nonprofit. This year proceeds will help the Urban Bicycle Food Mission in Dubuque.

Amanda from Urban Bicycle told us more about their organization, which is one hundred percent volunteer-based. They go out every Sunday night and prepare meals - sometimes up to 200 meals - that include burritos, sandwiches, healthy sides, oatmeal, and dessert.

The food is prepared in the kitchen at the mission and is delivered by volunteers on bicycles (and vehicles when the weather dictates), and set up shop at a couple of local spots to distribute the meals. Amanda said sometimes they will simply encounter someone on the street that needs a meal.

I asked Amanda if 200 meals are enough and she said people would be surprised to see how many people depend on their generosity.

Urban Bicycle is always looking for volunteers and donations to support their cause, so if you'd like to learn more you can find them on FACEBOOK.
