Foxy Brown was scheduled to perform at a 2018 New York Fashion Week show on Sunday night (Sept. 9) but instead of performing the two songs she agreed to, the rapper allegedly showed up late and made off with the organizer's check.

According to a report from TMZ, Foxy was set to perform at the LaQuan Smith party on Sunday night and was to be paid a total of $10,000$5,000 in advance and the rest at the party. Sources say the party came and went, and Foxy didn't show up until 2:30 a.m. when there were only a few people left.

Instead of performing the song's she was scheduled to, Foxy reportedly grabbed the $5,000 check from the organizer's hand and left the venue without rapping a single record. The people responsible for the event are now asking the rapper to return the money or say they will take her to court.

The incident is not Foxy's first time causing a controversy this year. In February, the New York rapper penned a letter of support for Russell Simmons after the Def Jam co-founder was accused of sexual assault allegations.

According to Foxy, Simmons was a respectful gentleman during the time she knew him. "But as inarguably, Russell’s biggest Def Jam female protege, (who birthed an era of overtly evocative stars), the man I’ve known and loved, was nothing more than the respectful, respected, gentleman and GODFATHER OF HIP-HOP we’ve all adored. In staunch support, Praying for you Russ!" the Ill Na Na artist wrote.
