The pandemic has been tough for a lot of us. You've been taking care of your family and friends, but have you been taking care of yourself, too?

Carrie Merrick is the Vice President of Behavioral Health at Hillcrest Family Services.

She reached out to me last week to let me know that thanks to the CARES Act, there are FREE mental wellness counseling sessions available to the nine county region they cover.

If you live in Dubuque, Delaware, Jones, Buchanan, Bremer, Linn, Benton, Johnson and Iowa counties you are eligible to participate.

Anyone living in those nine counties and have been impacted by Covid can receive up to five free mental wellness counseling sessions through their agency. Sessions can be conducted in-person or through telehealth, which includes both video and telephone.

For more information, call Hillcrest at 563-207-5494, visit their website or Facebook page.

If you know someone in the Cedar Rapids area that needs help, Hillcrest is working in conjunction with the Abbe Center for Community Mental Health. You can call them at 319-398-3562 or visit their website for more information.

Services are completely confidential. There's help. You're not alone.

We'll all get through this together.
