Gwyneth Paltrow Basically Giving Up Acting for ‘GOOP’
Gwyneth Paltrow's Oscar is likely to lead a lonely life — the GOOP founder and lifestyle brand expert says she's essentially giving up acting to focus on her career in editorial.
In an interview with TODAY this morning (June 15), Paltrow said that her brand, which will start releasing a glossy, print supplement in September through Conde Nast, is her priority where her career is concerned.
“I’m still going to do a little bit [of acting] here and there, but this really requires almost all of my time,” Paltrow said. “I’m in the office all day, every day. I have a pretty big team — we’re almost 85 people — so I kind of need to be at work.”
She added that she's got no regrets about the next stage of her career and only the fondest memories of being in the spotlight.
“It’s just one of those things,” she admitted. “I was so lucky: I had an incredible acting career, but I had this deep passion to produce content and make great products and curate things. It sort of evolved slowly and had a long gestational period and now it’s like, a real business.”
Paltrow founded GOOP nearly 10 years ago and uses it to connect with fans and subscribers over everything from nailing down healthy recipes, finding out where to shop and achieving healthy lifestyles.
