It's so great seeing people again! Judy from Big Apple Bagels dropped by this morning with Beth from St. Mark Youth Enrichment to catch me up with what's going on in February.

If you live under a rock, Big Apple Bagels is at 1675 JFK Road in Dubuque. They feature delicious freshly-made bagels and cream cheeses. Of course, it's more than that... great sandwiches for breakfast and lunch... hot drinks and soups... and their delicious gourmet muffins, too!

Right now they are featuring dine-in, carryout and delivery (at 563-557-3170) so treat yourself to something tasty soon.

The thing I love about Judy and Big Apple Bagels is how generous she is with local non-profits in the area. Each month she selects a different group to support and helps in a number of ways. She features change-boxes at each register so you can drop off your extra coinage after each purchase.

She also uses her restaurant as a drop spot for local groups when necessary.

This month she's helping out the gang at St. Mark Youth Enrichment. They provide healthy and enriching before and after school and summer programs. For 30 years they've created engaging environments for children in the Dubuque area.

They depend on community support to survive and with the challenges faced during the pandemic, they've been doing what they can to continue helping kids.

Beth mentioned they can never have enough glue sticks or crayon boxes, so feel free to drop them off at their offices at 391 West 12th Street in Dubuque (or drop them by Big Apple Bagels)!

Next Saturday, February 13th, St. Mark is hosting their annual "Ice Golf Classic."

Sadly, all the spots are filled this year! (Beth was really not sad to have this problem, though.) She wanted to remind our listeners that they can still participate by helping out with their auction for the event. Find the details and bid (generously) at their WEBSITE or learn more on their FACEBOOK page.

My thanks again to Judy and Beth for visiting today.
