Well, Judy from Big Apple Bagels is at it again!  Helping another great cause in the tristates.  You can help, too!

If you didn't know, Judy picks a local charity or group every month to help out.  Every Monday through the month, she donates a portion of the sales at Big Apple Bagels to said group.  She also features a change canister so people can throw a little extra if they'd like.

Make sure you stop by and order big at 1675 JFK Road in Dubuque.  (These are the perfect days to order in with a group from your office!)

This morning, Judy brought Laura Chandlee to the studios.  Laura is appearing in the upcoming Dubuque Chamber:  Dancing With The Stars on Saturday night, June 6th.

Laura has selected the Anna Weitz Foundation as the recipient of her fundraising.

In 2010, just before her 4th birthday, Anna Weitz was diagnosed with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive soft tissue cancer.

After a courageous 19-month battle, Anna died in her mother's arms on May 22nd, 2012.  In her memory, Anna's family and friends created an endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque.

The Anna Weitz Foundation will fund pediatric cancer research.  Only 4% of the National Cancer Institute's funding is directed to pediatric cancers.

Laura, who is a mother of four, has also lost two nephews to childhood cancers.  She'll be dancing the Tango at the upcoming event with Adam Kieffer to the song La Cumparsita.

The Billy and Kari concert at the Diamond Jo Casino tomorrow night (5/8) is also fundraiser for her cause.  Laura is doing a charity golf outing at the end of the month, too.  If you want more details you can call her directly at 563-564-1906 or email her at lchandlee@aol.com.

You can also mail or drop of donations at:  Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque - 700 Locust Street - Suite 195 - Dubuque, Iowa, 52001.

Otherwise, visit the FOUNDATION WEBSITE and make a donation online.

To grab your tickets for the Dubuque Chamber:  Dancing With The Stars, visit the FIVE FLAGS CENTER WEBSITE.

I know this blog was a little long, but I think the cause is worth it.

Thanks for your support in fighting childhood cancers!
