The man behind the World's Largest Truckstop has passed away at the age of 64.

The Iowa 80 Truckstop in Walcott, IA is legendary in itself. Right next door to the truck stop is the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum, a space dedicated to rare and one-of-a-kind trucks as well as the history of trucking. Its main building is 67,000 square-feet, and has enough parking for a whopping 900 trucks. Beyond that, it's equipped with 15 diesel fuel pumps, and also has a dedicated pump for dispensing bulk diesel exhaust fluid, per Wikipedia. The attraction sees roughly 5,000 visitors a day.

The Man Behind the World's Largest Truck Stop in Iowa:

Will Moon, the President of the Iowa 80 Group and owner of the Iowa 80 World's Largest Truckstop, died suddenly on Thursday, July 16th. He was 64-years-old. He is remembered as an entrepreneur, a lover of history, and a big supporter of the University of Iowa athletics:

Will developed his love of Iowa 80 by following his dad around when he was just a little kid, pulling weeds, mowing grass, and later working on the fuel islands and in the tire shop all through college to save up to buy a used pickup truck - an online obituary for Will Moon, per KWQC

His lasting legacy goes beyond the truck stop, and how he supported the University of Iowa in multiple respects. In addition to athletics, he made investments in student-athletes, University of Iowa Health Care, and the Tippie College of Business, to name a few things. He was also known for his kindness, and "meaningful relationships he built across the university community," per the University of Iowa Alumni Facebook page.

A visitation for Moon will be held from 4-8pm on Monday, July 20th at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory in Davenport, IA. A funeral service will be held the following day at Calvary Church of Walcott beginning at 10am.
