98.1 KHAK First Responder Friday Honors Emily Swartzentruber

Each Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., 98.1 KHAK's Brain & Courtlin pay tribute to an Eastern Iowa first responder. The weekly honoree receives a $25 gift card to Wild Hogs Saloon and Eatery in Walford and a $25 gift card to Honor and Respect.

Today we honor Emily Swartzentruber who was nominated by Jessica Swartzentruber. The entry reads:

"Emily started out as an EMT and quickly decided she wanted to help people even more than an EMT can, so she enrolled in U of IA’s paramedic program. She graduated in September of 2023. She goes above and beyond to help her patients. One patient was a young kid who was scared, so she found out he like Minecraft and spent the entire ambulance ride talking to him about that to bring him comfort and distract him from all that was going on."
