A brand new "boutique independent cinema" has officially opened in the Quad Cities! The Last Picture House is a cool new place to enjoy a night out.

Located at 325 East 2nd Street in Davenport, the Last Picture House is the latest project from Iowa-natives Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who you may know as the writers of the 2018 thriller 'A Quiet Place.' They wanted to create a "cultural and artistic space" that makes going to the movies a unique experience. The official website reads:

"Relax and enjoy a coffee, a bite, or a drink with friends in the cocktail lounge, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Arsenal Bridge and the Motor Row District. Take in the rare art collection, featuring posters from all around the world and one-of-a-kind movie props used on screen in your favorite films. Watch a movie beneath the stars on the rooftop screen with refreshments provided from the rooftop bar, all next to a sweeping view of the Mississippi River. Or grab a comfortable seat in one of the two state-of-the-art theaters, featuring incredible Dolby Atmos surround sound, laser and 35mm projection, and balcony seating that harkens back to classic movie palaces of yesteryear."

According to a December article from the Quad Cities Times, the new business has two indoor cinemas, the Jean Seberg Theater and the Donna Reed Theater. The Donna Reed Theater is the larger of the two and contains a balcony.  The rooftop theater and bar has yet to open.

For concessions, the Lounge offers all sorts of movie-themed cocktails, as well as beer, wine, seltzers, ciders, pop, ICEEs, and coffee. Food options include classics like popcorn, nachos, pretzels, and candy, plus chicken wings and gourmet hot dogs.

As far as movie memorabilia goes, the Quad Cities Times says the collection in the theatre will rotate. Right now they have "a crew shirt from the set of 'Pulp Fiction,' a clapboard from 'Unbreakable' signed by Bruce Willis and M. Night Shyamalan, a weapon prop from 'Looper' and the iconic staircase nail from Beck and Woods' 'A Quiet Place.'"
