One of the biggest and most popular waterparks and attractions in the Wisconsin Dells just unveiled a massive new expansion.

I have many fond memories of family vacations in the Wisconsin Dells. My family's preference was the Wilderness, where I spent hours wrestling with the waves at the Wild WaterDome Waterpark. While that park is presently undergoing renovations, so is the Kalahari Resort, which is about to open its brand new, $85 million "Aquadome."

About the Kalahari's Massive New Expansion:

Per ABC 7 Chicago, the Kalahari's new Aquadome is a 75,000-square-foot attraction complete with a retractable roof, making it operational year-round.

The park's previous expansion in 2002 saw its size balloon to 125,000-square-feet, which made it the largest indoor waterpark in America. With the Aquadome comes 237 new guest rooms, a renovated spa, new dining options in the form of Cinco Niños and Sortino's Italian Kitchen, a new lobby, and the May 2026 opening of Kalahari Treehouse Adventures and Daylene's Supper Club.

The New Waterslides in the Aquadome:

Here's a brief breakdown of the three new waterslides at the Kalahari's Aquadome, per Business Wire:

  • Zambezi Rapids: A six-person raft ride that extends outside the building, the Zambezi Rapids will be the world's first enclosed Boomerango.
  • Viper Venom: A six-person indoor water coaster with an uphill section.
  • Nile River Racers: Built to encourage repeat rides as opposed to single trips, the Nile River Racers will allow younger guests a thrilling option complete with four unique, conjoined lanes.

Also part of the Aquadome are two new dining options for vacationers, including Zulu's Grill, a fast-casual joint, and Shari's Daiquiri Bar, a full-service bar boasting frozen daiquiris, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.
