Following a wild performance on Saturday Night Live that ended with a very pro-President Donald Trump rant, Kanye West made some more controversial statements on Twitter.

On Sunday (Sept. 30), 'Ye tweeted that the 13th Amendment is "slavery in disguise," adding that "it never ended" and "we are the solution that heals." Shortly after his first tweet, Yeezy later clarified his statement and said he wasn't looking to abolish the amendment, instead he wanted to amend it. "We apply everyone's opinions to our platform," he tweeted.

TMZ also caught up with the rapper on Sunday and asked him to explain his tweets. "[The 13th Amendment] is something that we need to look into, so I'm opening up the conversation," Kanye said.

"The principals that wrote the Constitution were Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Thomas Paine and John Adamsall White men," 'Ye continued, reading notes off of his phone. "No women, no Jews, no Black men. And we need to look at it. We need to examine it."

When the photog fired back that the 13th Amendment was passed by Abraham Lincoln to abolish slavery, Yeezy threw out the conspiracy that Lincoln may have been a Black man, although there is no evidence to support that.

The Chicago rapper was then asked what part of the Amendment he was looking to amend but couldn't offer an answer, instead opting to open up a conversation with others. "Let's open up the conversation and do some more research," he said.

Kanye later teased an appearance on TMZ Live and said he would be stopping by the show on Monday morning for another visit. Check out Kanye discussing his comments, as well as his tweets below.
