Katherine Langford was supposed to be in Avengers: Endgame, but her scene never made the cut.

Last October, it was revealed the actress would be making a top-secret cameo in the newest Avengers movie. But after she was nowhere to be found in the film, fans began to wonder what happened to her character.

Now, in a new episode of Happy Sad Confused podcast, directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed the 13 Reasons Why star was supposed to play the older version of Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) daughter Morgan (Lexi Rabe) in a deleted Endgame scene.

However, after showing the movie to a test audience, they cut it out because people were confused by Langford's presence. "What we realized about it was we didn't feel an emotional association with the adult version of his daughter," Joe explained. "So it wasn't resonating with us on an emotional level."

In what would have been an emotional moment, Iron Man was supposed to see a future version of his daughter right before his death. In the scene, she was going to forgive him for sacrificing his life to save the universe.

“There was an idea that Tony was going to go into the metaphysical way station that Thanos goes in when he snapped his fingers, and there was going to be a future version of his daughter in that way station,” Joe said.

“The intention was that his future daughter forgave him and gave him peace to go. The idea felt resonant, but it just was too many ideas in an overcomplicated movie,” he added.

It's too bad! We're sure Langford would have killed it as the older version of Morgan Stark...
