PHOTOS: Y105’s Broadcast at Finnin Kia in Dubuque

On Tuesday, August 11th, I was broadcasting on-location at Finnin Kia in Dubuque. It was a fun event, complemented by gorgeous weather, that centered around two big things: honoring the nominees of July's Red, White & Fuel contest and getting a look at some great things Finnin Kia has to offer those searching for a new vehicle!

For the first two hours, our sister station, 103.3 WJOD, was out at Finnin talking to representatives from The Avery Foundation, The Dream Center, and Resources Unite, the three charities involved in the aforementioned Red, White & Fuel competition. The Avery Foundation took home the $1,500 check.

The Avery Foundation helps cancer patients financially and alleviates stress by providing grants to pay for unexpected expenses. You can read more about their founder, Ron Avery, and the foundation itself here!

From 1-3pm, I was there representing Y105, speaking to various employees at Finnin Kia about their trade-in program, credit checks ahead of vehicle purchases, and more. I was also encouraging people to sign up for a chance to win tickets to the Sam Hunt concert this weekend at Q Casino's Back Waters Stage!

One of the most fascinating points I came away with was from Service Manager Jonathan, who said that Kia owners should be using synthetic oil in their vehicles as opposed to conventional oil. Beyond extending oil life, synthetic oil helps reduce sludge buildup and provides better protection during extreme temperatures.
