Here Are the 20 Biggest Hip-Hop Songs of 2019
As 2019 comes to an end, it's time to look back on all of the moments that shaped the year.
On Thursday (Dec. 12), Hits Daily Double released the top 50 songs of 2019 based on total streams from both audio and video across various platforms. Unsurprisingly, hip-hop dominated the charts, with Lil Nas X topping the list and other names like Travis Scott, Drake, Post Malone, Blueface, DaBaby and more featured throughout.
At nearly double the second biggest song, Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" had 2.4 billion streams since January. The song that catapulted him into stardom has awarded the young rapper some other major feats as well, including five Grammy nominations, the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 and a spot on Forbes' 30 Under 30 list for 2020. Lil Nas X also appears later on the list with his follow-up single "Panini", which garnered 528.3 million streams since its release.
Though he didn't release a body of new music, Drake appears on the list multiple times. With a total of four entries, Drizzy landed in the top 10 via his appearance on Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode," which garnered 899.8 million streams. Elsewhere, Drake makes the list on Meek Mill's "Going Bad," Chris Brown's "No Guidance" and his own Rick Ross-assisted track, "Money In The Grave." The latter was released back in June along with another loose track, "Omertá," to celebrate the Toronto Raptors' historic win at the 2019 NBA Finals.
Post Malone had a great year as well, tying with Drake at four entries on the list. You can check out the top 20 hip-hop songs of 2019 for yourself below.
