You Can Spend a Night Inside This Beautiful Epworth, Iowa Church
With the advent of websites like Airbnb and VRBO, there are no shortage of unique places in which you can spend a night or enjoy a mini-vacation. One of the most intriguing I've seen as of late is a church you can rent. The best part? It's only a 20 minute drive from Dubuque!
Listed on VRBO is a historic church in Epworth that you can rent for one, or multiple nights! Known as the Lattnerville Church, it was erected in 1867, and its exterior is almost identical to what it was when it was built, per the VRBO listing.
The church withstood hardships in the form of remodels, fires, and multiple closures for decades until it was sold at auction in 2013. It underwent massive renovations and restorations to become what is known as the "Lattnerville Church Inn."
The residence merges the church and barn aesthetic, complete with beautiful landscape and a patio for people to enjoy the country scenery. The church features three bedrooms and private baths located on the separate balconies. The main floor features a pristine kitchen with custom cabinetry, ample seating, and multiple entertainment areas.
The interior of the church itself is cozy and inviting. In fact, it's nestled in such an area with such rich countryside that it's an ideal spot for someone looking for a peaceful retreat who enjoys history and nature. Those who known Epworth know that local wineries, bike trails, ski resorts, and more are just a few miles away.
The home itself is fit for up to eight guests, as well as two ovens, two sinks, flower beds, patio and pergola, an outdoor grill, and more!
Also near the Lattnerville Church Inn is the Miller-McGrath Wildlife Area, an ideal spot for walking and birdwatching, per the website "Only in Your State." The Lattnerville Church Inn is located at 20232 Girl Scout Road in Epworth, IA.
