With the leaves changing colors, and the mercury in the thermometer dropping, fall is officially here. It's a busy time for businesses and organizations alike, and the Dubuque Area Chamber is not exempt. After all, their schedule is a reflection of all the Key City has going on. The month of October looks to be busy and fruitful for all involved.

Justine Paradiso of the Dubuque Area Chamber stopped by the studio for her monthly "What's Happening?" interview, where she details some events of note. This month, the Chamber is having their important luncheon, their last "Politics & Eggs" session of the season, continuing to accept inquiries for their B2B Referral Group.

Paradiso started by talking about the upcoming "State of the City" luncheon, which will be underscored by Mayor Brad Kavanaugh giving an update on all things Dubuque:

Our State of the City is a luncheon on October 11th at Hotel Julien. Our wonderful mayor Brad Kavanaugh will be sharing some community investments and achievements, and plans to prepare Dubuque for the next generation [as well as] an opportunity for attendees to be informed about the relevant issues in our community.

The "State of the City" luncheon is a members-only event. If you're not a member, you can register at the Dubuque Area Chamber, located at 300 Main Street #200.

Paradiso also wanted to remind folks that the last "Politics & Eggs" event of the season is happening on October 25th, also at Hotel Julien Dubuque:

Politics and Eggs is an opportunity for people running in the upcoming elections to come and give their stance on several of the issues, and for the audience to ask questions [....] This will be our last one for the season [....] with Admiral Michael Franken, who is a candidate for U.S. Senate in the state of Iowa.

You must register within a week of the event to be able to attend. With the event happening on October 25th, there's still ample time to do so.

Lastly, there is an ongoing B2B referral group Paradiso made sure to touch on. Every Thursday at 8:30am in the Chamber Boardroom, area Chamber members from different business categories meet to share and exchange referrals they deem useful for participants in those groups.

Paradiso said this group has evolved over the last several years. If you're in your specific business category, your competition is exempt, meaning all the "warm leads" go directly to you.

October is shaping up to be another exciting month for the Dubuque Area Chamber. You can listen to Justine Paradiso outline all three events, including another one down the road into the holidays, below!
