Sunshine, Pumpkins And Apples!

You couldn't have asked for a nicer Sunday.  With the beautiful weather the Farber family took the time to head out to two of our favorite fall stomping grounds.

The first was Schuster's Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze at 7541 Schueller Heights Road (south of Dubuque off of Highway 52).

I know there are a lot of great places to visit in the tristates but this is one of our favorites.  You can take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out the pumpkin that will grace your porch for Halloween.

On top of that, you have to try shooting their Pumpkin Blaster.  (Last year we shot gourds out of it... this year it was dried corn on the cob!)

It took me three tries, but I finally hit the car they have sitting out in the field.

After that, we spent a good hour getting lost in their awesome Corn Maze.  I don't know who came up with the design, but it's awesome!  You get a map at the start and try to find the eight checkpoints hidden inside.  Jacob really got into it.

They have other fun items for the kids, too.  Bounces, a ring toss and wooden cut-outs you can stick your head in for photo-ops.

When we were done at Schuster's Pumpkin Patch we backtracked up the road and hit one of our all-time favorites... Czipar's Apple Orchard at 8610 U.S. 52 South.

If you're baking this fall, they have every delicious apple you can think of.  Jellies, wines and other goodies!  Be sure to try their Apple Cider Donuts and their new Apple Slush machine!

We picked up all kinds of goodies and ended the day by doing our annual photo of Jacob on their pumpkin tractor... a pose we've done since he was a baby.
