The American Heart Association Heart Walk Returns to Dubuque in May
The American Heart Association, a global force for healthier lives for all, invites the Dubuque community to the 2025 Dubuque Area Heart Walk on Saturday, May 3rd at the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
I will be the co-emcee of the event, alongside Ken Peiffer of 103.3 WJOD. As I've done in years, I will help lead the opening ceremony of the event, which is always a tremendous honor. I've done so the last couple years alongside Ron Steele of KWWL, and am excited to continue the tradition, this time with my eminently talented coworker and mentor in Ken.
The American Heart Association’s premier event to boost physical and mental health, the Heart Walk allows supporters to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity. The fundraising goal is $250,000, and as of this writing, over $60,000 has been raised.
This money will be used to fund life-saving research for families and patients who have heart disease or other heart-related issues.
The 2023 Dubuque Heart Walk raised $235,000, up from 2022's record-breaking total of $227,000. Both Hasken and Lennie Thielen raised $23,000 and were tied for top-donor at the start of the walk early that Saturday morning.
In years past, Glenn Hasken, the Chairman of the Dubuque Heart Walk, has been on-site in conjunction with Molo Companies in Dubuque. He is not hard to find either. Molo's booth is always bustling with activity, in large part due to the "Prize Wheel," which encourages people of all ages to take a spin and win a prize.

I hope to see you at the Dubuque Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at 8am on Saturday, May 3rd. Find out more information on this year's Dubuque Heart Walk on the American Heart Association's website.
