New face, same mission.

In the official trailer for The Girl in the Spider's Web, released Thursday (June 7), Claire Foy affirms her rank as a cinematic heroine with her latest undertaking as the badass hacker and "righter of wrongs" Lisbeth Salander.

Filling the shoes of the role once held by Rooney Mara in 2011's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, the legacy continues in the franchise's second chapter, which trails Lisbeth and journalist Mikal Blomkvist (played by Sverrir Gudnason) in their efforts to free themselves from a web of spies, cyber crooks, and government degenerates.

Remaining true to the goth aesthetic that enchanted audiences in the first installment based on Stieg Larsson's Swedish series, Foy seamlessly blends in with her most sinister role yet dressed in punky leather gear and sporting a pitch-black pixie cut. Not to mention, the British actress looks locked and loaded and ready for combat in many of the explosive flash scenes from the upcoming psychological thriller.

The 34-year-old is best known for her role as young Queen Elizabeth in the Netflix original series, The Crown.

In March 2018, Foy made headlines in association with the show when it was revealed she'd been paid less than her male co-star Matt Smith despite holding the titular role for the first two seasons. In response to fan outcry, Netflix acknowledged their mistake and compensated the star for back pay.

The Girl in the Spider's Web hits theaters November 9.
