The University Of Dubuque Welcomes “Hyprov” On Friday Night, October 15th!
If you're a fan of the classic show "Whose Line Is It Anyway," one of the shows stars is coming to The University of Dubuque Heritage Center on Friday night, October 15th for a hybrid hypnosis/improv show you won't want to miss!
This morning Tom Robbins from the Heritage Center popped by the studio to tell us about the show.
Homecoming weekend for the University of Dubuque will feature Hyprov on Friday night, October 15th at 8pm. This is a show that incorporates hypnosis, improv and comedy all in one night. It stars famous hypnotist Asad Mecci and comedic improviser Colin Mochrie from "Whose Line Is It Anyway."
The premise is simple. Asad welcomes 20 volunteers to the stage to be hypnotized. He'll slowly weed out a few of the volunteers until they narrow it down to about 5 people... and that's when the fun really starts. Colin will join Asad on stage for improv with the volunteers that Tom referred to as "a cavalcade of fun."
Comedy will ensue and Tom says the fact that you might have a friend or family member on stage will make it even funnier.
This is going to be a hilarious show and Tom says they expect to fill up the theater so you shouldn't wait to get your tickets. Tom said as a special treat for our Y105 listeners he's doing an exclusive presale for tickets,
You can visit the UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE HERITAGE CENTER WEBSITE to grab your seats. Click the link for the show and when you're buying your tickets it will prompt you to "enter group code." Punch in the word "colin" or you won't even be able to buy your seats!
Tickets start at $32 and the theater is back to full capacity, so get your friends together for a night full of laughs. The pre-sale code will only work through Monday evening, then tickets will be available to everyone.
Tom said he would come back next Thursday morning (7/29) to tell us about the full season of shows, but he was able to mention one other show coming up on Saturday night, December 11th at 7:30pm. Just in time for the holidays, it's "Neil Berg's Broadway Holiday," presented by the Dubuque Arts Council. Tickets are available now.
If you've not seen a show at the Heritage Center... it's a beautiful venue and very comfortable. We can't wait to hear what other shows Tom has up his sleeve for the season!
