We stopped by McDonald's for a quick sandwich while we were out running tonight.

No joke, while I was waiting for my hamburger I took a picture of the ketchup dispenser.  I was going to do a quick post about how it's my favorite condiment and I can eat it on anything.

We sat down and I started to watch the news and the horrible story that has unfolded out of San Bernardino, California earlier today.

A health department holiday party got shot up by one or more gunman.  Early reports are saying there are 17 people dead and at least 17 more injured.

I'm sad.

Worse yet, after looking away from the television I noticed a boy no older than 8 or 9 was looking up and watching the events unfold, too.

It's bad enough people are shooting up malls and movie theaters, but it's starting to feel like you're not safe anywhere, anymore.  I'm depressed over the fact we'll have to start explaining these happening to our children.

With recent shootings both near and far, I've been contemplating taking a course and purchasing a firearm for home protection.  At this point I'm almost convinced.

I'm a full believer in the second amendment and your right to bear arms, I just never thought in a million years I'd be seriously considering buying a gun.

It's a sad, sad world.
