Second Suspect Arrested In XXXTentacion Murder Case

Police have arrested a second suspect in XXXTentacion's murder case, CBS reports.

Authorities confirmed to the outlet that they've apprehended 22-year-old Michael Boatwright, who was arrested for unrelated drug charges earlier this month. He now faces an additional charge of first-degree murder.

Detectives are still looking for an additional gunman, as well as Robert Allen, a 22-year-old man described as a person of interest in the case. Allen is also wanted in Broward County on a felony warrant for violation of probation for possession of PVP (flakka) and carrying a concealed firearm.

XXXTentacion, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy, was fatally shot in an apparent robbery in June. The 20-year-old rapper was sitting in his car outside of a motorcycle shop in Broward County, Florida when he was approached by two armed assailants. At least one of the men fired a gun, striking Onfroy, before fleeing the scene in a dark-color SUV with his accomplice. Onfroy was taken to Broward Health North where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s office previously charged 22-year-old Dedrick Williams with first-degree murder in the case. He was also charged with a probation violation and operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license. At the time of his arrest, Williams was on probation until 2021 for grand theft motor vehicle. His connection to Onfroy's murder has not yet been disclosed.
