Watch for These Two Wisconsin Natives in the 2025 World Series
Despite the Milwaukee Brewers' ugly exit from the MLB playoffs this year, Wisconsinites still have a reason to cheer for the ongoing 2025 World Series. As the reigning champion Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Toronto Blue Jays for the glory, the state of Wisconsin is represented on both teams, including one for the Jays who just made a crucial play in Game 1.
Badger State should feel well-represented, even if the Midwest is again absent from MLB's biggest series. My dad has been a longtime fan of the Blue Jays (and several other Canadian teams) for years, so I'd like to see Toronto win it all. My dad is also still the person who waxes poetic about the Montreal Expos, with a ton of memorabilia around our home. If nothing else, I know the Jays winning the World Series would make him happy, so there's my bias out of the way.

Wisconsin Representation on the Los Angeles Dodgers:
Los Angeles Dodgers right fielder Alex Call grew up in River Falls, WI. He was traded from the Washington Nationals to the Dodgers in July, and before that, spent a single year with the Cleveland Guardians. Call grew up in River Falls and played college baseball for Ball State. His collegiate summer baseball career also included a stop in Eau Claire, where he played for the Express of the Northwoods League back in 2013 and 2014.
Wisconsin Representation on the Toronto Blue Jays:
Up north, Daulton Varsho for the Toronto Blue Jays has deep Wisconsin roots. Varsho grew up in Marshfield, WI, and played college baseball with the Milwaukee Panthers after enrolling at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Like Call, he also played for the Eau Claire Express (2015 and 2016).
Varsho was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Jays in 2023. Furthermore, the Eau Claire Express congratulated both Call and Varsho via social media. Varsho also had a pivotal play in Game 1 of the World Series, which led to the Jays blowing the doors off the Dodgers.
