Raw Rations Pet Food Store in Dubuque Moving to New Location

A veteran and family-owned pet store in Dubuque is moving to a bigger, more prominent location this fall.

Those who regularly drive Dodge Street, and specifically come across the NW Arterial intersection in Dubuque, might've noticed a change of scenery recently. The former Batteries Plus Bulbs location now dons a new sign: "Raw Rations Pet Food & Wellness." At present, the Raw Rations is located at 2600 Dodge St Suite C-1, near Slumberland. That is going to change very soon.

Raw Rations is Moving Into a Bigger Space:

Raw Rations began as a monthly delivery service in Sauk City, WI before evolving into a brick and mortar business. Their store in Dubuque, IA is only their second store outside of their home-base, as delivery still remains their primary business model.

The store specializes in frozen, freeze-dried, and "gently cooked" pet food, predominately for dogs and cats. Since opening in 2024, Raw Rations' Dubuque location has operated in a storefront in Dodge Street. That looks to change very soon with the former Batteries and Bulbs location at 4370 Dodge Street, adjacent to Wal-Mart, being remodeled to accommodate the pet food operation.

Prior to closing in the spring, Batteries Plus Bulbs was a staple on Dodge Street. They had access to around 50,000 different types of batteries, lightbulbs, and accessories; incredible inventory accessible in-store and available to order. In addition, the store specialized in repairing various pieces of technology, including cellphones, iPads, and iPods, per Telegraph Herald.

Now, the storefront looks to be replaced with a health food option for pets:
