Give Blood in Dubuque and Receive a Free Movie Ticket
Here's your chance to do a great thing for someone else and see one of the most enjoyable blockbusters of the year for free!
In celebration of the release of Twisters, the long-awaited follow-up to the disaster classic Twister from 1996, the American Red Cross is incentivizing you with a free movie ticket with a blood donation.
Through the end of July, the American Red Cross will give you a free Fandango movie ticket to use to see a movie like Twisters. You have until July 31st to give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma and receive not only a comped movie ticket, but also the chance to win a 2025 Ram 1500 Big Horn.
Why the tie-in with a movie like Twisters? The fact is that the American Red Cross is on the scene of disasters seen in a movie like Twisters, which chronicles those who chase a violent outbreak of tornadoes all across Oklahoma. Storms like the ones portrayed in the movie can cause devastating bodily injuries, resulting in an urgent need for blood for hundreds, maybe thousands of people.
Our collaboration with Universal Pictures also supports Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts. Blood donations and financial gifts can be a lifeline for someone facing their own storm. - per the American Red Cross' website
Having seen Twisters over the weekend, it is a thoroughly enjoyable movie, heightened not only by realistic-looking tornadoes, but also standout performances from Glen Powell and Anthony Ramos.
The original Twister remains something of a classic in Iowa being that the film was shot mostly in the Hawkeye State. The climactic scene with the F5 tornado was shot pretty much exclusively in the town of Eldora. The cornfields the characters sprint through was located in Ames. Finally, the "twister hill" scene was shot in Boone County, IA (Pilot Mound, specifically). The site is so noteworthy, it's actually its own map dot on various websites.
Seize the opportunity to book an appointment to give blood, platelets, or AB Elite plasma and receive a free Fandango movie ticket.
