Bella Thorne updated her fans on the search for the hacker who threatened to leak her nude photos.

The former Disney star took to her Instagram Stories on Friday (June 21) to reveal she's "getting closer" to figuring out the identity of the person who prompted her to post her own topless pics on Twitter last week.

“Getting closer to finding this guy,” she wrote alongside an angry-face emoji.

According to screenshots taken by Us Weekly, the 21-year-old actress posted this message over a text exchange she had with the man or woman who's helping her with the case.

“Rest assured my friend we are working on solving this to get you peace of mind!” the person wrote. “Respecting your wishes to not solicit criminal charges; we’ve had to solicit expert assistance with making 100% sure we have the correct person responsible for this insensitive invasion of your privacy.”

"This person is way more sophisticated than we thought," they added, revealing the blackmailer isn't a "run of the mill hacker."

In case you missed it, Thorne joined the many other celebrities who have been victims of nude photo leaks. However, she took matters into her own hands and shared the images herself before the blackmailer could do it.

"I can sleep tonight better knowing I took my power back. U can't control my life u never will," she wrote at the time. "Here's the photos he's been threatening me with, in other words here's my boobies. So here f--k u, and the last 24 hours I have been crying instead of celebrating my book while doing my book press."

The scandal made headlines all week, especially after Whoopi Goldberg publicly criticized Thorne's decision to leak the pictures during an episode of The View.

Thorne later defended herself and called out Goldberg for her "sick" and "disgusting" victim-shaming comments. Her emotional video received an outpouring of support from her famous friends including former Shake It Up co-star Zendaya, Lucy Hale, ex-boyfriend Tyler Posey, Dove Cameron and Lily-Rose Depp.
