Former Iowa Hawkeye Cooper DeJean Launches His Own Cereal
"The secret is out of the box," a former Iowa Hawkeye and recent Super Bowl champion declared on his Instagram account this week. Like many athletes before him, this accomplished player has officially launched his own cereal.
Football players getting their own cereal has been common for decades. The most famous example is probably Doug Flutie's Flutie Flakes, which launched back in 1998 when Flutie was the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. Flutie Flakes became so regionally beloved on the east coast that they've since been re-released several times over.

Introducing Captain Coop's Crunch Cereal!:
Now, current Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean is launching his own cereal, which benefits the wonderful University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital. DeJean grew up in Sioux Falls, so he's not technically an Iowa native, but to see him partner with a wonderful hospital that's an indispensable part of his alma mater is something you love to see.
It's called "Captain Coop's Crunch Cereal," and can now be purchased at select Hy-Vee and Dick's Sporting Goods locations, as well as on the cereal's official website. A custom cereal bowl can also be purchased. I'm sure many Eagles fans have already copped theirs. They are a loyal bunch.

How Much Does Cooper DeJean's Cereal Cost?:
Retail prices of Captain Coop's Crunch will surely vary, but online, the DeJean's delicacy is available in two packs and twelve packs for $24.95 and $119.95, respectively. The custom cereal bowl is $8.99.
About the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital:
The University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children's Hospital is world-renowned for offering specialized care for patients at birth. The hospital works to "advance pediatric research, prevention, and treatment," per Captain Coop’s Crunch Cereal's website. We at Y105 held a radiothon in support of the children's hospital in December 2024, and raised over $30,000.

Other Current Athletes with Their Own Cereal:
Current Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has launched multiple versions of his signature cereal "Josh's Jaqs." The cereal was a runaway success in the Buffalo region, for it recalled the aforementioned cereal that featured Doug Flutie's likeness. And, of course, here in Iowa, it's easy to spot Caitlin Clark's Crunch Time Cereal at any Hy-Vee store.
