The First Day of the 72nd Annual Dubuque County Fair

The 72nd Annual Dubuque County Fair kicked off with a bang on Tuesday, July 22nd, which was "Free Day," meaning admission was free for the whole day. Predictably, it was a blast, underscored by great food, old friends, a community vibe, and a free concert to conclude the evening.

I was grateful to be broadcasting live for a large chunk of the afternoon. Thanks to some wonderful sponsors in Chick-fil-A, AMC Classic Dubuque 14, and Pizza Ranch and FunZone Arcade on Radford Road. Representatives from each sponsor showed up with some incredible giveaways, including: coupons for free food, gift cards, and movie memorabilia in the form of cups and popcorn buckets!

After my marathon broadcast (four hours on the Y105 Morning Show and six hours at the Fair, but who's counting), Catherine and I walked around to see the Fair animals, eat some great food from Hibachi Time, indulged in fried Oreos, and spotted some games we will play later in the week.
