Dubuque’s Grand Harbor Resort Will Become a Radisson Hotel
Last month, following years of financial struggle and a court-ordered sale, the Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark in Dubuque was purchased at auction. The attraction was listed at a starting price of $7.5 million, and was purchased for exactly one dollar over the listed bid Riddle's Group of Rapid City, SD, which operates as a jewelry corporation.
Now, the Telegraph Herald confirms that the resort is getting a brand new look and name in lieu of its purchase.

Dubuque's Grand Harbor Resort to Become a Radisson Hotel:
The Grand Harbor Resort will soon become a Radisson hotel, with renovations also expected for the longstanding property in Dubuque:
Our vision for the Grand Harbor Resort is to truly invest in this property. We plan to renovate the rooms and redo the water park - Riddle's Group Chief Financial Officer David Westergaard, per the Telegraph Herald
Riddle's Group expanded their operations into the hospitality business by acquiring Choice Hotels nearly two decades ago. Meanwhile, Radisson, which will soon have a presence in Dubuque, is an upscale brand in the Choice Hotels group, which offers mid-level lodging options such as Comfort Inn and Quality Inn, as well as Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn (which exists in Dubuque), per the Telegraph Herald. Riddle's Group also has a jewelry store inside Dubuque's Kennedy Mall.
While the Dubuque City Council owns the five-acre plot of land underneath the hotel, they do not own the building itself. The hotel will be privately owned, but must meet certain maintenance requirements in accordance with the development agreement, per City Attorney Crenna Brumwell.
