Childcare Center in Asbury Abruptly Closes 'Effective Immediately

A childcare center in Asbury has abruptly closed its doors with the potential of a sale being worked out, leaving parents scrambling for daycare options in the midst of the ongoing school year.

Per an email received by the Telegraph Herald on Saturday, October 10th, Frog Hollow Kid Campus at 5005 Asbury Road is ceasing operations "effectively immediately." The email revealed that officials behind the childcare center had been seeking to sell the facility to another local childcare provider, but that move has not been made yet.

Inside Frog Hollow Closing its Doors:

According to the aforementioned email, directors of Frog Hollow were made aware a few weeks ago that plans to try and secure a buyer were underway, but multiple people resigning from their positions left the center with no other option but to close in the immediate:

The directors were notified a few weeks ago of our plans to try and secure a buyer and of our intentions to continue to have them run it as a childcare center. Unfortunately, this week both the director and assistant director have decided that they do not wish to continue with the center. This has prompted other staff to also resign - an email from Frog Hollow officials, per Telegraph Herald

Frog Hollow made clear that the sudden loss in staff means that the facility "cannot provide safe and professional care" for the children for whom it's responsible, thus making it inoperable going forward.

Given this closure occurred so early into the school year, it's undoubtedly left many families scrambling for other options in the present. Frog Hollow had a bus service to shuttle kids to-and-from the daycare, something not every center provides, which only compounds the difficulties for parents who must make other arrangements in the immediate.

The Telegraph Herald noted that parents and family members may collect refunds and belongings from the center from 1pm to 5:30pm on Tuesday, October 13th. You can find out more about Frog Hollow's abrupt closure on the Telegraph Herald's website.
