Miki Robinson of the Bell Tower Theater dropped by the studio today to discuss two big shows, one of which is premiering in just a couple of days!

Getting Sara Married, which debuts Friday, April 22nd at 7:30 pm, tells the story of the titular Sara Hastings, an unmarried lawyer in her mid-thirties too preoccupied for a relationship. This upsets her eccentric Aunt Martha, who goes to the extremes in order to assure her niece finds someone to love.

Miki also said the Bell Tower Theater is holding auditions and crew sign-ups for its 15th annual summer kids-for-kids musical. This year, it's The SpongeBob Musical. Auditions are open to kids from seven to 18-years-old for 80-90 on-stage roles (two casts) and 80-100 backstage roles.

"Get your kids involved in the program. This is part of our free summer musical program, so [they] participate 100% for free," Miki said.

Even if acting isn't your child's bag, Miki was quick to note that the opportunities afforded by the summer musical program stretch beyond what happens on-stage.

"Kids also have the opportunity to work backstage," she said. "They can do costumes, they can built the set, they can work in the box office, they can usher. I'll find something for pretty much every kid to do."

Auditions will take place Friday, May 20th from 3-7 pm and Saturday from 9am-12 pm/1-3 pm. Call-backs (by invitation only) will be Monday, May 23rd from 4-6pm. The performances will be Thursdays through Sundays from July 14th to July 24th.
