Glass Animals Is One Of The Headliners At Iowa Music Festival

There is a music festival that happens in Iowa that you may or may not know about. It takes place in a town just southwest of Des Moines and they have pulled in some pretty big artists over the course of its short history. The festival is called Hinterland Music Festival and this year, a pop group with a pretty big hit right now will be headlining day 2 of the festival. Over the past 7 years, St. Charles, Iowa, which is located in Madison County, has hosted a music festival called Hinterland Music Festival. What began in 2015 as a two-day music festival, has grown into four days of artists from around the world performing in the small town of St. Charles.

Major artists to headline Hinterland Music Festival include Willie Nelson in 2016 and Hozier in 2019. The Hinterland Music Festival didn't happen in 2020 (thanks, Rona), but it returned to St. Charles, IA in 2021 as a three-day festival.

This year, the 2022 Hinterland Musc Festival kicks off on Thursday, August 4th, and wraps up on Sunday, August 7th. It's four days of musical acts from the U.K. to Texas, California to Vancouver, Indiana to Montana, and more. With the 2022 Hinterland Musc Festival being four days this year, that means there are four headliners taking the Hinterland stage each night and this year, B100 artist Glass Animals will be taking the stage as the headliner act on Friday, August 5th.

Headlining on Friday, August 4th is is Billy Strings. Hailing from Michigan, Strings is one of the top emerging artists across all genres of music.

As mentioned before, Glass Animals will be headlining Hinterland on Friday, August 5th. Known for their massive hit "Heat Waves," the England-based indie rock band will be coming to Iowa in August.

Headlining Hinterland on Saturday, August 6th is Colorado-based Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats.

Wrapping up the 2022 Hinterland Music Festival in St. Charles, IA is Phoebe Bridges. Phoebe performed on SNL back in February of 2021 when Dan Levy (Schitt's Creek) hosted. She'll take the stage as the Sunday headliner on August 7th.

Tickets for the 2022 Hinterland Music Festival are on sale. General Admission passes, which get you into all four days, are $250. A limited amount of single-day passes go on sale Friday, February 18th, 2022. Those tickets will be $99.
