A Massive LEGO Convention is Coming to Eastern Iowa This Fall
For most children, LEGOs are an indispensable toy. Their impact is immeasurable, as they teach kids how to follow instructions and use their imagination in creative and inventive ways. The LEGO collector market has exploded in recent years, which has led to the rise in LEGO conventions all across the country.
With that, a first-of-its-kind LEGO convention is coming to the Quad Cities this month. The Quad Cities Brick Convention will erect itself in the area on September 23rd and 24th. Professional LEGO artists from all around the United States will display their creations and interact with fans, per a media release.
The Quad Cities Brick Convention will happen at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, and welcomes all ages to attend. In addition to the aforementioned LEGO artists will be a "construction zone," which encourages eventgoers to get creative and build with thousands of bricks available. That alone almost makes the event worth attending.
"Live builds" will also take place, which will have professional LEGO builders erecting sets before an audience. Other activities and attractions will include:
- LEGO Retail: purchase LEGO merchandise, retired LEGO sets, new LEGO sets, Hard-to-Find LEGOs, and goodies from multiple different vendors
- Star Wars Zone: Amazing LEGO creations from the Star Wars universe
- Brick Pits: with thousands of LEGO bricks to build with
- Professional LEGO artist meet-and-greets
- Fan Zone: Epic LEGO creations built by local fan builders
Tickets for the Quad Cities Brick Convention are only $14.99 for either Saturday or Sunday, but are expected to sell out quickly. Those in attendance will also be supporting a volunteer-led non-profit:
