A new song and music video that is billed as a "Love Song to Dubuque" is making the rounds on social media, and has been garnering praise for its originality and local touchstones.

"Done On This Side," a comedy troupe made up of "The Dubuquers," known for their family friendly sketch comedy skits, has released a song and music video for their ballad "No Other City in the World: A Love Song to Dubuque." The handsomely produced video features four singers professing their love for the Key City by noting its hallmarks.

From the Mathias Ham House to Gordon's Toggery, Accessorize Me, Applebee's, and everywhere in between, "No Other City in the World" references a lot of instantly recognizable Dubuque locales. The recurring chorus has the four singers harmonizing "D-U-B-U-Q-U-E" in a rhythmic way you'll find yourself singing to yourself for the remainder of the day:

No other city / No other pretty city has what you got, girl

No other city in the world has a courthouse / A gold-domed courthouse, yeah / Probably not / Most likely not / And more specifically on Central Avenue - a sample of the lyrics of "No Other City in the World: A Love Song to Dubuque"

As you can detect, the song is partly written in jest, but also highlights the eccentricities that make Dubuque such a unique city in many respects. The gang clearly hashed out these lyrics, going as far as to mention the various murals downtown, its trademark bluffs, and even a brief rap about Julien Dubuque, the city's founder.

The description of the "No Other City in the World" video shows various local entities helped make the video possible, which is always a positive to see. The song and video was produced with the support from the City of Dubuque Community PEG Access Equipment Grant Program.

Dubuque Clothing Co. provided the various different Dubuque shirts the quartet rocks in the video. Dr. Michael Bagby and the Loras College choir make a cameo and provide backing vocals for the song's crescendo, and KlapaMedia got some gorgeous drone shots of the city.
