Post Malone and Swae Lee’s “Sunflower” Hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100
Post Malone and Swae Lee's collaboration "Sunflower" off of the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack just earned Post his third No. 1 song and Swae his first as a solo act.
On Monday (Jan. 14), the folks at Billboard revealed that the track had landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song, which dethroned Halsey's "Without Me" on its way to the top spot, had previously been No. 3 on the chart.
"Sunflower" is a track that finds both melodically inclined artists at their best as they belt out lyrics about romance. Lee holds down the hook duties for the first part of the track, while Post handles it as the song comes to a close. We need these two to hop back in the studio together ASAP.
Swae Lee spoke on "Sunflower" going No. 1 in an Instagram video he uploaded earlier today.
In the post, he wrote, ""#1 song in the world OFFICIALLY NUMBER ONE ON BILLBOARD !!! love you guys words can’t even explain ! On the way to Tokyo Japan S/O to the Sunflowers out there you guys are the reason couldn’t have done it without you ❤️ @postmalone corkscrews soon !!!"
Elsewhere on this week's edition of the Hot 100 you can find Travis Scott, whose Drake-assisted "Sicko Mode" is currently holding steady at No. 4. At No. 5 we see Cardi B, who appears on Maroon 5's "Girls Like You." Lil Baby and Gunna ("Drip Too Hard," No. 8) and Kodak Black ("Zeze," No. 10) round out the top 10 of the chart.
Shout-out to hip-hop maintaining a strong presence on the charts. Salute.
