To the chagrin of many, snow will be here soon.  Many other rejoice at the thought of fluffy white flakes, like Mark Gordon from Sundown Mountain.

Mark stopped in this morning to get us prepped up for the upcoming ski season with details on a few of their annual events.

First, for those who have never been there, Sundown Mountain is located at 16991 Asbury Road in Dubuque.  It features 21 trails, 2 terrain parks and 6 lifts with shorter lift lines.

This Saturday (10/31), Sundown is holding their annual job fair.  If you're looking for work - on or off the slopes - they have many opportunities for you to check out.  Best of all, employees are encouraged to (learn to) ski and get plenty of chances at the slopes.

Mark said even if you can't make it out for the event, stop by and get an application in so you can be a part of their operation this season.

The other event is Sunday, November 15th.  It's the annual Sundown Swap Meet.  You can stop by from 9am to 4pm to buy and sell gently used equipment, or get some new gear for the slopes.

The swap meet will also be the final day to purchase season membership passes at the discounted rates.

Mark mentioned a new lodge for this year and the new 'Free Bird' pass for any person with a season membership.  It will give you the opportunity to bring a friend out free for a day of skiing, so they can see how much fun Sundown Mountain can be!  (Be sure to see the folks at Sundown for more details.)

Sundown Mountain will also be hosting live music occasionally on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.  You can watch the SUNDOWN WEBSITE or their FACEBOOK PAGE for upcoming events and details.

Winter doesn't mean you have to shut yourself in!  Get out and enjoy a midwest winter at Sundown Mountain!
