Y105 Gives Out 105 Prizes at Round Two Patio Party in Peosta

Round Two in Peosta, IA was the place to be on Saturday, May 10th with the first-ever "Patio Party" hosted by Y105 taking place. It was a wonderful evening, underscored by a massive prize giveaway — the biggest yet in my time at Y105.

The party started at 4pm when I arrived to broadcast live from 4-7pm. Round Two was kind enough to host us on their spacious patio, adjacent to their building. If you're unfamiliar with Round Two, they've been in Peosta since 2020.

They are a world-class establishment, boasting 12 bowling lanes, a redemption arcade, a full-service bar, lunch and dinner menus, a dining room, a party room, and a huge outdoor patio. It is perfect for leagues, kids parties, dates, and even worth solely stopping in to enjoy the delicious food and drinks.

Their patio is large and designed beautifully. There is an outdoor part, a large awning/overhang to shade those who don't desire to be in the sun, and have a large open space in the back-of-the-house for bags, basketball, and general camaraderie.

From 4-7pm, I was hanging out, broadcasting live, and with the help of Katie, my coworker at Townsquare Media, was busy checking in qualifiers who signed up to win one of 105 prizes in advance of the event. For those who didn't "pre-qualify," they were able to put their name in another box for a shot to win a prize.

We had some truly elite prizes, I must say, including:

• Chicago Cubs tickets
• Iowa Hawkeye basketball tickets
• National Mississippi River Museum tickets
• Golf cards
• Rodeo tickets
• Concert tickets

Not bad for a "no purchase necessary" contest, I'll add.

I look at these types of massive prize giveaway events as more than a traditional live broadcasts. This is an opportunity for myself and the great people who make Y105 sound as great and be as big as we are to give back to the community in a major way. It was wonderful to mingle with friends, old and new, and give people an opportunity to win big prizes.

A big shoutout to the Brown Bottle Band, who truly got the party started at 5pm, playing an assortment of tunes old and new. Rock and country were the dominant sounds of the evening, and I especially appreciated their cover of Hank Williams III's "Mississippi Mud." Maybe I was the only one, but that is a true banger from one of my all-time favorite artists.
