For over a year, I've welcomed the Tri-State Veterans Network into the studio to talk about the monthly events they hold at various locations across Dubuque. These meetings are two-handed. They provide an opportunity for veterans and their families to connect and commiserate, but they also exist as a way for vets to find gainful employment here in the Tri-States.

Last month, Christina Schauer of the Tri-State Women Warriors joined Jon Eggers of the Tri-State Veterans Network in studio with me to talk about how her organization sponsored that month's Veterans Network meeting. Not only were these two local powerhouses teaming up together to help veterans, but they both serve unique needs that fit their demographics.

Yesterday, Schauer and Kris Ortiz rejoined me in the studio to elaborate more on what the Tri-State Women Warriors are all about. It goes without saying that women in the military have specific needs and face challenges completely different from their male counterparts.

Schauer, Ortiz, and the incredible team at the Tri-State Women Warriors look to address those challenges, while also doubling-down on fostering the special connection and bond that exists between women who have served.

In our interview, Schauer noted that the Women Warriors hold multiple meet-ups/events every month in order to further their cause. Happening this Sunday, April 13th, at Steeple Square in Dubuque, the Tri-State Women Warriors will host their ever-popular "Music Bingo." Snacks, pizza, laughs, and great tunes are a given at this event, which gives veterans of all ages/creeds, along with their children and families, and opportunity to enjoy a fun afternoon.
