NBA Star Returns to Wisconsin High School with Huge Donation
Despite rehabbing a ruptured Achilles he sustained during Game 7 of the NBA Finals, NBA star Tyrese Haliburton made it a point to return to his alma mater to host his basketball camp.
Haliburton is coming off a phenomenal playoff run, which saw him lead the Indiana Pacers, against all odds, to the doorstep of being NBA Finals Champions. Haliburton was incredible throughout multiple playoff series, leading the charge in the Pacers defeating the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the New York Knicks. In each series, the Pacers were heavy underdogs.

Throughout the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Haliburton and his teammates, including Pascal Siakam and Aaron Nesmith, refused to let the noise and underdog status get to them. They had a serious chance to win the defining Game 7 in the series. Alas, Haliburton sustained an absolutely awful Achilles injury. The Thunder went on to win the game, and thus, were crowned NBA Champions for the 2024-25 season.
Last week, the two-time NBA All-Star returned to his alma mater, Oshkosh North High School, to host a basketball camp for local youth. In addition, Haliburton announced a significant donation to the school's athletic programs, per the Kaukauna Community News.

Haliburton proudly committed a $3 million donation over the course of three years to improve facilities at the school that helped foster his love for basketball. The money will be used for several facets within Oshkosh High's athletic programs, including:
- A brand-new video-board
- A new scoreboard for the gymnasium
- A fully renovated school weight-room

The donation was announced by Haliburton last Friday during a ceremony that named the school's fieldhouse the "Frank Schade Fieldhouse," named after Haliburton's former high school coach.
Due to his ruptured Achilles, subsequent surgery, and rehab, Tyrese Haliburton will miss the entirety of the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season. Read more about his donation to Oshkosh High School on the Kaukauna Community News' website.
