While I Was Off Work Last Week…

You may have noticed my absence from the air last week.  So what was I up to all week?

Well, I have a few weeks of vacation to burn up, so I took a week to play catch up at home.

I could tell you I knocked off a bunch of things from my wife's honey-do-list, but then I would be lying to you.

I spent the week pretty much goofing off.  Seeing movies, napping and going out for long lunches with friends.

I did stop up to my mother's house to see my sister, Katy, who is visiting from Denver.

In tow was my nephew, Bodhi, and his new little sister Temperance.  I don't see Katy very often.  With the expense of flying home, even holiday visits have become a rarity.

What can I say?  They are the cutest.  Bodhi has a great smile and infectious laugh.  I got to hold Temperance, or Tempe for short, and rock her to sleep.

So if you'd like a highlight from my week off, there you go...  nothing spectacular to brag about, but as my Aunt Phylis always says, "family trumps all other news."
