Bell Tower Theater Looks to Inspire with Their Latest High School Production

The curtain is about to rise on the production of Godspell at the Bell Tower Theater. Last month, Miki Robinson stopped by to talk about auditions for the show. Godspell is the ninth annual high school production for the local theater, with a cast and crew of are 8th - 12 graders!

Both Miki and Godspell cast-member Erin King stopped by the studio today to talk about the production. Godspell by Stephen Schwartz. The show is a dynamic rock opera that celebrates the gospel as well as life itself:

Based on the Gospel according to St Matthew, Godspell follows the last days of Jesus, and includes musical versions of several well-known parables. This immensely successful rock opera is a demonstration of joy and a celebration of the family of man. This new version is a masterful retelling of the original sensation, injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements. The performance features high school students from throughout the area.

Miki offered the young cast high praise, saying "they're ready" in regards to what she's seen from all the performers and crewmembers during rehearsals. Erin, who already has a respectable background in theater productions, also spoke about her experiences as a soloist in the cast as well!

I started theater when I was about seven or eight years old. I've been doing both school and community theater. This year is my first year with Bell Tower, and it's been a pretty good experience. I've met a lot of new people, and I've gotten to learn a lot too [during] the process of it.

Bell Tower Theater's production of Godspell includes 18 cast-members, seven crewmembers, and even a student guitar player!

The performances of Godspell will begin on Thursday, June 15th at 7:30pm at Bell Tower Theater where it will enjoy a two-week run through Sunday, June 25th. Below is a full list of performance dates:
