Iowa’s Best Omelet is Served Right Here in Dubuque
Mere weeks after the Iowa Beef Council crowned Flight Bar + Grille in Huxley, IA the winner of the "Best Burger Contest," the Iowa Egg Council crowned the winner of their "Best Omelet Contest." And unlike the state's best burger, if you're a resident of the Tri-States, you won't have to make a pilgrimage to try it!
The Iowa Egg Council has awarded the title of "Best Omelet" to Caroline's Restaurant in Dubuque. Caroline's is located inside the Hotel Julien Dubuque, and their Chorizo Omelet was granted the top honor after being one of the five finalists in the running.
The four other finalists were: Johnson’s Restaurant and Reception Hall in Elkader, Klunder’s Cafe in New Hampton, Eggs and Jam in West Des Moines, and Beggin’ for an Eggin’ in Creston. Ultimately, however, the award went to Caroline's, who can now advertise that they have the best omelet in the Hawkeye State.
Caroline's Chorizo Omelet boasts an egg-ceptional blend of chorizo, green onions, avocado, salsa, cheddar cheese, and hash browns. As a whole, the Dubuque eatery boasts "inspired dining" that pairs well with a stay at the exquisite nature of the Hotel Julien:
