Join Big Apple Bagels to Celebrate “Two By Two Day” On October 26th

The eatery that has become synonymous with breakfast in the Tri-States is hosting a big event on Thursday, October 26th. In collaboration with a wonderful organization that educates kids on foundational principles in life, Big Apple will be serving up breakfast for a good cause!

Big Apple Bagels in Dubuque has officially made October 26th "Two By Two Day," in honor of their collaboration with Two By Two Character Development. Located in Dubuque's Kennedy Circle, Two By Two is a nonprofit organization "dedicated to creating a kinder world for people, animals, and the environment through engaging social-emotional learning programming," per their website.

Kristin Woodward-Vaassen, the founder of Two By Two, has stopped in the studio in the past, and has noted how making the world a kinder place is a challenging endeavor but a rewarding one no less. Two By Two teaches kids such principles as kindness, compassion, citizenship, and more:

Helping to make the world a kinder place has been both rewarding and heartrending, as the work never ends. What I know is that even though I miss the classroom and its daily connection to kids, this is where I am meant to be, as our mission continues to make an impact daily…To develop responsible citizens of strong character who care for, respect, and appreciate people, animals, and the environment. - per the "Who We Are" tab on the organization's website

On October 26th, Big Apple and Two By Two encourage kids who have been a part of the organization's program to bring their Two By Two stuffed pet to Big Apple. From now until the day of the event, coloring pages will be available at Big Apple Bagels. Kids and adults alike can pick up a page, color it, and bring it to Big Apple Bagels for display in their windowfront!

Big Apple Bagels needs no introduction either. They've been serving up delicious bagels and coffee to hungry Tri-Staters for years. Last year, I did a two-day live broadcast there for Stocktoberfest 2022. This year, for "Two By Two Day," I'll be broadcasting at Big Apple from 8-10am. I'm even working on a coloring page of my own too!
