Recently, I've been spending most of my weekends in the delightful town of Dyersville, but this will be my last weekend of soccer games as the tournaments wrap up. Stayed tuned, because if my kids win the tourney, you'll be getting a follow up! Much bigger news than that, has recently been reported on by the Telegraph Herald.

One of the largest projects ever built in Dyersville is currently underway, as Ancient Brands Milling relocates to the 20 West Industrial Park. There, they are currently constructing a 92,000-square-foot facility, estimated to cost around 26.5 million dollars. A groundbreaking celebration for the project was held Tuesday (10/5) at the site.

According to their website; Ancient Brands Milling manufactures organic and non-GMO puffed grains that are gluten-free and allergen-free. In addition, they also co-manufacture products like cereal, granola, energy bars, and plant-based alternatives. The new facility will increase Ancient Brands Milling’s capacity from 2.5 million pounds of puffed product to 30 million pounds.

The project has received incentives from both state and local entities. The Iowa Economic Development Authority awarded Ancient Brands Milling $769,093 in tax credits and refunds in May. The award requirement was the creation of the 17 new jobs at a wage of $22.63 per hour. In addition, the Dyersville City Council members  approved an agreement with the company last month for $2 million in tax-increment rebates over a 10-year period beginning in 2025.

According to the Dyersville Economic Development Corp. Board of Directors, Ancient Brands Milling will be one of the last companies located in the second phase of 20 West Industrial Park, which started 10 years ago. There is one final lot next to Ancient Brands in Phase 2; with a Phase 3 lot in the works, where they are currently aligning a road to extend to the west in the Dyersville 20 West Industrial Park.
