- A list of the impacted addresses
- A search engine that allows you to look up your address
What to Do in a Boil Water Advisory:
The City of Dubuque has also outlined the dos and don'ts during a boil water advisory:

- Do not drink tap water without boiling it first. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
- Until the advisory is lifted, boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, and food preparation.
- Bring water to a boil, let boil for one minute, and let it cool before drinking/using.
- Unboiled tap water may be used for bathing and other non-drinking purposes.
What Caused This Boil Water Advisory in Dubuque?:
Per the City of Dubuque, a water main break on Indian Ridge, combined with a temporary, construction-related water main shutdown nearby, is to blame for the boil water advisory. The conjoining factors resulted in a brief loss of pressure within the area's water distribution system.
The process of boiling water before use is to kill any potential bacterial contamination. Those in the affected region should boil their water before drinking or using for cooking.
How Long Will the Boil Water Advisory Last?:
The boil water advisory will remain in effect until two consecutive water samples have been tested/completed and are negative for bacteria. This could take up to 48 hours.
An update will be issued through regular City of Dubuque communication channels, such as their Facebook page, when the results are available and the advisory is lifted or a formal boil order is declared.
